Our Services
We provide a range of services that clean up water problems for clients across New Zealand.
We will work with you closely to provide a tailored solution for your particular water issue.
Wastewater Treatment
Geotubes are central to Southwater's waste water treatment systems. They are arguably the most cost effective mobile primary treatment system available in NZ, well suited for waste water from the likes of wineries, dairy farms, feedlots, aquaculture sites, vegetable washing and dairy factories.
Water Treatment
We provide portable, industrial and recycled water treatment solutions for the municipal, resource, construction and industrial sectors.
These customized water treatment solutions are generally skid mounted and use a variety of standard technologies set up.
The technologies used include; particle filtration, membrane filtration, reverse osmosis, media filtration, aeration and disinfection to meet DWSNZ or an industrial clients specific standard.
Silt Treatment
Southwater utilize both portable Siltbuster clarifiers - ‘mobile silt traps’- which can be linked to a polymer dosing system, or a Geotube® dewatering unit to treat silt flows in a range of pump rates and silt densities.
We deploy large bags on lay down areas or smaller bag systems that fit skip bins and/or trailers for scaled down jobs. We work closely with Gold Coast based PR Power to source a range of mobile waste water treatment units to remove solids, improve turbidity, treat cement wash solids, and neutralise pH plus, strip remnant hydrocarbons and asbestos.
Plant Sale & Hire
Southwater can hire key items of specialist plant to established clients for one off smaller scale applications. They include strap on flow meters, turbidity meters, skid mounted bag and cartridge filters, dosing units and a range of diaphragm, flexi dry and centrifugal pumps. Where silt and sand only is required to be removed from a pumped flow then a Siltbuster can be provided. This service provides the client the opportunity to trial systems prior to buying for their own operation.
We scope the systems to cope with each sites flow and solids and set up semi-automated dosing treatment to ensure a trained operator can meet discharge consents. Southwater stay close to the client to provide consumables, trouble shooting and technology upgrades.
Sludge Surveys
A detailed pond survey will provide clear evidence of sludge depths in a pond, enabling pond management decisions to be made with sound knowledge and confidence.
Sludge removal activity can be planned and budgeted for in a timely manner. Ponds’ biological capacity can be restored and environmental and consent limitations protected.
Dredging
We dredge and pump a wide variety of materials from retention ponds, municipal sludge lagoons, ditches, gas station refits, mine basins, ski field ponds, animal waste ponds and small marinas.
The dredges are set up to protect pond liners from damage. We use a Doppler portable flow meter to help quantify the number of dry tonne equivalent of sludge removed. This unit is available for independent hire to clients.
